Waverly Tavern Restaurant & Banquet Facility
286 Maple Avenue
Cheshire, CT  (203)272-5998
Waverly Tavern celebrates its 18th year in business (March 2010) under the ownership and operation of John H. Glass.  John is a life long resident of the town of Cheshire, CT supporting as many of the community organizations as possible.

While the town has seen many restaurants come and go over the years, John attributes the success of Waverly Tavern to having a
loyal, hard-working staff, along with being a hands-on management operation.

The Waverly Tavern's moderately priced menu promises and delivers something for everyone.  Whether you're in the mood for a full-course dinner, a juicy prime beefburger & fries, a salad with homemade blue cheese dressing, or just an appetizer you'll find it here.  Our extensive menu truly accommodates any appetite without regard for "traditional lunch or dinner times".

In addition to the regular menu, Chef Hassan offers daily hot and cold lunch specials Tuesday-Saturday 11:00am to 4:30pm.  Daily dinner specials are offered from 4:30pm including our famous Regular Cut or Tavern Cut of Prime Rib on the weekends.

Along with the quality meals and friendly staff, the Waverly Tavern gives the unique effect of three Restaurants under one roof.

The main bar entered by swinging, saloon-style doors, offers the lively atmosphere of a pub furnished with hand-carved mahogany booths, a tin ceiling, and a large horse shoe bar.  One side of the Tavern is  walled by window panes allowing the rays of the afternoon sun.  We refer to this area as the sunroom when taking reservations for parties of 6 or more in the Tavern.  A double windowpane door in the Tavern opens onto an enclosed patio for Alfresco dining during the warm weather season.  A glass block wall and carved wood panels with high windows above the booths separate the bar from the main dining room.

The dining room is separated into two sections by white window pane panels offering a quieter, more intimate dining experience.  These rooms offer an open-air dining ambiance provided by natural sunlight.

The Waverly Tavern also houses a separate private banquet facility complete with its own bar and dance floor.  With the warmth and charm of an English Pub, the room is designed with fine detailed oak woodwork and hand carved columns.  This room accommodates  private parties for sit-down (served) meals or buffet style.
